If you’re looking to enhance your knowledge and expertise in project management using the Scrum framework, the Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or Professional Product Owner (PSPO) certification from Scrum.org is an important milestone to pursue.

Below is a step-by-step guide to registering and taking the PSM/PSPO certification exam directly on the Scrum.org website.

Step 1: Create an Account on Scrum.org

• Visit the official Scrum.org website: www.scrum.org

• On the homepage, select “Register” to create your personal account.

• Fill in all the required personal information. Please note that the name you register will appear on your certificate.

• Complete the account creation by confirming your information and setting your password.

Step 2: Purchase the Assessment Ticket and Select Your Certification

After successfully creating your account, log in to Scrum.org using your newly registered credentials.

On the homepage, find and select the “Certifications” section to continue the registration process.

For example, if you’re pursuing the Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification:

• From the list of certifications, choose “Professional Scrum Master” to proceed.

• Within the PSM section, you can select the certification level that matches your goal — PSM I, PSM II, or PSM III.

• Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Buy” button to proceed to the payment step for your Assessment Ticket — your exam access code.

In the next payment step, you can use your credit card to purchase the Assessment Ticket.

Step 3: Receive the Instruction Email and Complete the Exam

After purchasing the Assessment Ticket, you will receive an email from Scrum.org containing detailed instructions and your exam access code.
Carefully read the instructions and use the provided code to take the online exam directly on the Scrum.org website.

Step 4: Receive Your Certificate (If You Pass)

If you achieve the required passing score, you will receive an electronic PSM/PSPO certificate from Scrum.org.
The certificate can be downloaded and will also be stored in your personal account on the Scrum.org website.
